Another year has passed and All Stars Cup 2013 is here. This is the fifth year of the tournament, this time designated for the U15 category. The tournament is traditionally held during the third weekend in June, i.e. 14-16 June. Once again, young footballers born in 1998 will be playing against each other, and this is something that has remained constant: the tournament ages along with the players. When they played here for the first time, they belonged to the very starting age, and today they are older pupils.
Our agency adheres to proven certainties and works with strategic partners, and thus we are once organizing the All Stars Cup in cooperation with the City District of Prague 10 and SK Slavia Praha, on whose premises the tournament will be played. The tournament will be under the patronage of the Football Association of the Czech Republic and the Mayor of City District Prague 10. Patrons include former and current Slavia Prague players, headed by the legendary Vladimír Šmicer.
The sports and organizational principles on which the tournament is built also remain unchanged. Sixteen participants will be playing in completely fair competition - the first two days in groups, and the third day will be a play-off for standings. Each team will be playing a total of nine matches, arranged in three half-day blocks. The matches will be refereed by prospective domestic officials, appointed by the referees committee of the FA of the Czech Republic. Thanks to our collaboration with British non-profit organization Tournaments Abroad, three referees from abroad will also be joining them. As in past years, with the exception of the Prague teams, all of the clubs will be staying at the four-star TOP HOTEL Praha.
What has fundamentally changed in comparison with past years is the international reputation and credit of the All Stars Cup. After five years of existence, it is now considered one of the best tournaments in Europe in its category, and this makes us very happy. It is an honour for us to collaborate with top clubs from football-developed countries, especially when they themselves show an interest.
What teams will be playing this year? Each foreign club bears a well-known name and guarantees sports quality. Sporting Lisabon will be defending their title, and other participants include the returning Fenerbahce Istanbul and CSKA Moskva. For the first time, Prague will be welcoming Ajax Amsterdam, Olympique Marseille, Valencia CF, Panathinaikos FC and Danish team Randers FC. And what’s more, we will also get the chance to see the famous Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara! This will be adding a new, non-European dimension to the tournament. This type of competition will present a great challenge to the ambitious Czech teams participating in the tournament, none of which will be new to the tournament this year.
Yes, it’s true. June is the All Stars Cup month – a unique display of young football talent.
