About the tournament

All Stars Cup 2011 is the third annual international tournament for U13 youth footballers (born in 1998). The tournament will be taking place from June 17 to June 19 in the SK Slavia Praha sports complex in the capital city of the Czech Republic. The All Stars Team Agency is once again organizing the event in cooperation with the local football club and the Town District of Prague 10, whose mayor has taken over patronage of the tournament.

All Stars Cup is becoming a prestigious event in this age category, even on a European scale. The event is growing in terms of the number of playing days, as well as the number of participants and their sports quality. This year, there will be 16 teams appearing in Prague, and these teams will be playing 72 matches in three days – each team will play nine matches. As in years past, the best local teams will be joined by intriguing competition from abroad: last year’s winner from Celtic Glasgow, traditional teams Lech Poznaň and MŠK Žilina, and new teams CSKA Moskva and Rapid Vídeň, among others. However, this year’s most illustrious and attractive names are Juventus FC and Sporting Lisabon!

All Stars Cup will also strengthen its image thanks to the fact that its patronage was taken over by the Football Association of the Czech Republic, which has included the event into the list of sponsored events within the Grassroots Program. In addition, the Referees´ Committee will be delegating selected perspective referees for the tournament who are expected to be in charge of professional competitions in the future. FA of the Czech Republic is also personified by one of the tournament’s patrons Vladimír Šmicer – formerly a famous player who is now the manager of the Czech national side.

Thanks to the fact that the organization of the tournament has changed, and that individual teams will always play their matches in half-day blocks, the players will now have the opportunity to get to know Prague from a broader perspective than just a football field. Organizers from the All Stars Team have prepared several tips on how to spend free time – but this will all be taking place in June, 2011. We are looking forward to your visit!
